Paul Carter died on 5th June at home with his wife Jenny beside him. He was 74 years old and had been suffering with ill health for some time.
Paul was a Wellington life member in recognition of his outstanding service and dedication to the club over many years.
He first joined the club in the 1960s and had a successful career as a pace bowler in the 1st and 2nd XI.
He was also an active volunteer off the field serving for many years on the club's Management Committee, most notably as Vice Chairman. He only stood down from the Committee in 2024 due to ill health.
He was a dedicated and vocal supporter of the club in his retirement, attending most home games with his wife Jenny.
We would like to extend our thoughts and well wishes to Jenny, Richard and the family at this sad time.
We will be holding a minute's silence before all matches this weekend to remember Paul and pay tribute to his service.
Paul's funeral will take place on Friday 27th June at 2:30PM at Telford Crematorium followed by a wake at the cricket club.
