Your Safeguarding Team For 2024

Our Club Safeguarding Officers for 2024 are Sally McGibbon and Steve Brooks who are both new to the role this season. They act as the first point of contact for parents, children, volunteers, staff and any members of the club with safeguarding concerns. Part of their role is to ensure that safeguarding concerns are appropriately handled ensuring confidentiality and information is passed on to the appropriate people. They can also be contacted to give feedback on training sessions, matches, or any other club activities. They are also responsible for promoting good safeguarding practice and ensuring club policies and procedures are adhered to which includes ensuring anyone working with children has undergone the appropriate checks and is suitably qualified for the role being undertaken.
Sally McGibbon (07415 928302) – Safeguarding Officer
“Hi, I’m Sally McGibbon. Whilst my cricket knowledge is very limited my safeguarding knowledge is not. I have worked with children and young people since I left college many moons ago, and have a passion for ensuring sports clubs are a safe and inclusive environment for all. I am very new to the club, so if you see me wandering around please come and introduce yourself. Looking forward to meeting you all soon!”
Steve Brooks (07796 400554) – Assistant Safeguarding Officer
“Hi, I am Steve Brooks – often known as Brooksy. I first started playing for the club in 2014 after moving to the area and have since played in many different teams and now play in the 1st and 2nd team. Please feel free to contact me with any safeguarding concerns or other feedback no matter how small. If you see me at the club you are more than welcome to stop me for a chat and introduce yourself.”
