Weekly Round-Up: 20th May

Weekend Summary

Wellington were given the run-around by Shifnal overseas Ethan Jamieson, who hit a century to condemn them to a six-wicket defeat at Priorslee Road. However, we did come out on top in the meeting of the 2nd XIs of the two clubs, edging a close rain-affected draw. Elsewhere, the 3rds were outsclassed in their contest with Quatt II, whilst the 4ths responded well after a bad result in the previous week but were still defeated at Lilleshall II. On Sunday, the 5th were involved in a thriller against Shelton III, losing by just six runs. Meanwhile, the 1st XI won convincing at Worfield in the first round of the BDPCL Cup, maintaining their T20 form of 2023!

PerformanCE of the Weekend

Dave Good (84) produced the highest individual score of the weekend and it was very nearly enough to pull off a memorable chase for the 5th XI.

Matt Morris was making his 2nd XI debut against Shifnal on Saturday and returned figures of 5-71, an impressive contribution from the U14 as he made the step up to Division One.

  • Rebecca Mullard Wilson picked up 3-40 for the 4th XI, whilst Paul Willis top-scored with 39.
