Reminder: Dog Walking

April 21, 2020 News

With more people than ever walking their dogs around Orleton Park cricket ground due to the Coronavirus lock-down, the club’s management committee want to remind all members and local residents of our policy in this area.

Only club members are permitted to walk their dogs on our fields. If you are not a member and would like to enjoy this privilege, you can join up as a social member here. If you do so you will also be helping out your local club at a very difficult time.

Furthermore, members who do walk their dogs at the club are reminded of the following rules:

  • Dogs must be kept on a lead at all times.
  • Owners must collect their dogs’ waste and take it home with them.
  • Dogs must be kept away from the square in the centre of each pitch.

We have unfortunately had several instances of these rules being broken in recent weeks and it should not be on our volunteer ground-staff to clear up after other peoples’ dogs.

Should the rules continue to be broken, the club may have to rethink its approach to this issue.

We live across the road from the club and as well as being cricket fan we would like our son to take up the sport, he is only currently 3 so still a bit young. We would however like to become club members. Does this allow us to use the club house and watch matches when they start up again? Would we be able to walk the dog on the grounds? And do you offer a family membership? 2 adults 2 children one 13 one 3.

    Thank you for your help
