Wellington held their nerve to edge past Shrewsbury at Orleton Park by 15 runs in a closely contested County Cup semi-final.
Batting first, the home side hit 149-3, with Josh Macdonald and Jovan Uppal both retiring not out (30 and 31 respectively). Ben Thompson also added 25 to the challenging total.
In reply, Shrewsbury also had two retired not out batsmen in the form of Jonathan Bland (32*) and William Jenkins (30*). Gabe Downes also hit 22 in a game dominated by the batsmen. However, Wellington kept their discipline with the ball to earn their final spot with Lucas Foyle picking up the best return of 2-3.
Steve Moules' side must now wait to discover their opponents in the final as they look to retain the trophy they won last season.
