It was a much-deserved honour for a popular and dedicated member of our club!
Paul received his award from Ed Ashlin of Cricket Shropshire, who spoke about the impact in the last few years.
Ed said: “Paul has been a dedicated and enthusiastic member of Wellington Cricket Club for many years, making an exceptional contribution across several roles. As coach of the Under-15 team, he delivers high-quality, engaging sessions that build both skill and confidence, continuing his coaching even through the school holidays to give young players a safe, structured space to stay active and connected.
“Alongside coaching, Paul captains the Sunday Friendly side and regularly umpires, leading with fairness, encouragement, and a genuine love for the game. He also plays for the Saturday 4th XI, where his calm, supportive approach helps younger players find their feet in senior cricket.
“Balancing all these roles with humility and care, Paul truly embodies the spirit of community cricket — his passion, leadership, and kindness have left a lasting mark on everyone at Wellington Cricket Club.”
Well done Paul - we're very lucky to have you!
