Wellington IV made the trip down the A5 to face Shrewsbury III at Shire Hall, but suffered a heavy defeat. Batting first, skipper Patrick Howells (39) and Ed Bushnell (40) were going well after a couple of early wickets. However, after they fell in quick succession the Wellington innings imploded with a slew of single digit scores down the card as the visitors failed to bat 30 overs. 115 was never likely to be a winning total, and so it transpired. Shrewsbury won the match by eight wickets.
