The 2nds made it three wins in a row against Worfield reserves at Davenport Park. Wellington’s first innings total was a sum of many parts rather than a single outstanding contribution. Patrick Ward-Clayton top-scored with 35, but there were also solid knocks from Steve Lamb (26) and Matt Stinson (23) – plus four scores in the teens. Wellington made 193 before being dismissed in the last over of their forty. Stewart Black picked up two early wickets to put his side in the driving seat, but Worfield’s Nick Hudson (74) proved a menace to the visiting bowlers. Thankfully from Wellington’s point of view, he received precious little support as his side were bowled out for 131. Steve Moules and Harry Slater claimed two wickets each in a comfortable win.
