Wellington made it eight wins from eight league matches this term with a six-wicket win victory over Frankton on their travels. The home side batted first and were held to a total of 134-9 in their 40 overs. Whilst there were no wickets for the seamers, Wellington’s spinners did impress – with debutant Adithya Manigandan claiming 3-18 and skipper Wendell Wagner picking up 3-16 off eight overs. Mat Batkin (2-10) was also in the wickets. Batkin (33) and fellow opener Tom Masters (23) got Wellington ahead of the chase, before Ben Byram (26) and Sam Bloor (31*) completed the job with 12 overs to spare. The win puts Wellington into the league final on Saturday 26th September, where they are likely to face Quatt if they seal the Clive Smith Group as expected next weekend.
