Wellington has a growing girls section and the Club is dedicated to expanding the female side of the game making it inclusive for everyone. The girls coaching takes place on a Monday evening during the season alongside the junior boys but they are coached separately. They are encouraged to take part in the U11 and U13 girls festivals that take place across the County within the season.
During the close season, there is also an opportunity for girls to continue training with indoor coaching taking place between November and February. All coaching is led by ECB qualified coaches who hold valid DBS certificates.
The U11/U13 Girls are coached by Simon Topper (07921 234800) supported by Phil Snape, Gareth Mullard-Wilson and Stu Taylor.
Training takes place on Monday evenings between 6:30 pm and 7:45 pm. All coaches are ECB qualified and hold valid DBS certificates. There is also always a trained First Aider on site.
The older girls (aged 14 onwards) are encouraged to compete in the Ladies sides and where appropriate, players will also be referred to the Shropshire County Cricket Pathway to further develop their skills. The ladies train on a Tuesday evening from 6:45pm to 8:00pm and are coached by Hannah Young (07827 865345) supported by Simon Topper, Phil Snape and Pippa Stewart.
