Social Membership

Over 250 men, women and children currently play at Wellington Cricket Club, covering all ages, backgrounds and abilities. As you can imagine, the financial cost of providing playing opportunities on this scale is significant and like all community sports club we constantly battle to balance the books.

We are therefore enormously grateful of those who support us by becoming Social Members. These people come from all walks of life, but they are united by wanting to support Wellington Cricket Club despite not playing. They include:

  • Parents, spouses and family members of current players
  • Former players who have moved away or finished playing, but hold fond memories of Orleton Park
  • Local sports fans who come along to spectate and use the bar
  • People in the local area who recognise the Club’s value to the community

Sadly the number of Social Members has been declining in recent years and we are appealing for support from new or former members to turn this situation around.

We know the club is warmly thought of by so many people who check our progress over the season. We would ask these people to consider signing up a Social Member to keep the Club in good health.

On top of the satisfaction of supporting the Cricket Club, Social Members also enjoy unlimited access to our facilities across the summer, half-price hire of the Club’s function room, a complementary drink in the bar, and a copy of the WCC Handbook and Fixture Card.
