Covid Guidance At Wellington CC: No Spectators, Hospitality Rules – MUST READ
Following updated guidance from the ECB, we are communicating the rules which will apply to cricket matches at Wellington Cricket Club until at least 17th May unless otherwise announced. We are sorry if these contradict earlier announcements by ourselves but the guidance has recently been changed and clarified.
The ECB has stipulated that spectators are not permitted at cricket at the current time. There is an exemption to this rule for one parent or guardian of U18 players. Otherwise the only individuals allowed at the ground during play will be the players, officials and coaches of the teams playing. We will have an official at the entrance of the ground to enforce these rules and make sure that everyone understands them.
No Hospitality During Play
We are not permitted to open our outdoor beer garden during play under the current rules. This includes for any individual permitted to be at the ground during matchplay, such as parents.
Rules For Hospitality After Matches
Once play is finished, which we expect to be around 5pm this Saturday and Sunday, the outdoor bar will be open to all players, parents and officials – along with any visitors who want to join us for a drink. This will take the form of external table service as you may be familiar with from other pubs. Everyone must observe the Rule of 6, make contactless payments and follow the one-way system in place. There will be signs in place to inform you of the rules for our beer garden.
Indoor facilities: Toilets
The only indoor facility open at the cricket club at this time will be the toilets. You must be wearing a facemask to access the toilets and follow the one-way system at all times.
Finally, all those taking part in matchdays at Wellington should be familiar with our Matchday Protocols. These tell you how to arrive and what rules you need to follow during matchplay.
