Club Statement: Staying Safe On Matchdays

September 11, 2020 News
Ahead of the weekend, and the new rules coming into force in England from Monday, Wellington Cricket Club would like to remind all members, visitors and guests of the need to abide by social distancing on site and remain vigilant, especially in view of the recent upturn in cases.
We have Track and Trace QR Codes displayed around the ground and pavilion. When you visit the ground, you are required to scan and submit your contact details. If you do not have a smartphone, please ask the outdoor bar steward to complete this on your behalf. Please note, this is not required if you are a participant or an official in a match as this data is held separately.
When socialising before, during or after the game, please do so in line with the new guidance – that is in groups of no more than six and respecting the two metre rule. Stick to your group and please spread out. As beer gardens go, we have a pretty big one – so let’s use it.
We would like to thank you all for respecting the rules so far this summer. The membership has been overwhelmingly supportive of the changes we have had to make in order to keep everyone safe. We only have a couple of weeks left of cricket now and we want the focus to be squarely on what’s happening on the pitch – so let’s all of us keep it up.
Regards, the Management Committee
