Another Sorry Performance
The 1st XI slumped to another defeat when they went down by six wickets at Dorridge.
Sent in to bat on a pitch assisting the bowlers, Wellington soon lost key men Neil Edwards and Joe Clarke and never really recovered, being dismissed for a meagre 101.
Last year’s pro Michael Johnson, now Worcestershire’s wicket keeper and our contracted player, top scored with 22 and the only other batsmen to reach double figures were Tom Saunders (15) and Martin Delaney (13).
Skipper Wendell Wagner gave the visitors early hope when he reduced Dorridge to 3-2 but they lost only one more wicket as they reached their target in just 23.5 overs, Wendell finishing with 3-42.
The team will be hoping to get back to winning ways when they entertain Ombersley on Saturday.
