We're very near to the start of the cricket season now - and we have some details to share about how junior cricket will be run at Wellington this year. There have been some changes since last season, so please read the following carefully.
About Junior Cricket at Wellington
Wellington offer junior training and organised matches throughout the summer for boys and girls aged from 9 to 15. Junior members receive weekly coaching from our team of fully qualified ECB coaches and have all their match costs covered by their single joining fee of £55 for boys and £30 for girls. We provide for all abilities within this age range: no prior knowledge or experience is necessary!
There is also cricket for children aged 5 to 8 years through the ECB All Stars scheme. Information on this will be available on the website very soon, so watch this space.
Parent Information Evening
We will be holding a parent information evening on Thursday 28th March at 7pm at the club. This will be a chance for you to hear a presentation from your coaches as to what is in store for your child for the season ahead. We strongly encourage all juniors and parents to come along and meet your coaches for 2019.
We have a brand new enrolment system for 2019. I'm sure you will be pleased to hear that the days of paper forms are thankfully now behind us! All members must be enrolled online via this link. It's very easy and only takes a couple of minutes. We ask all members to enrol ahead of the Parent Information Evening where possible.
Parents can also enrol as members via the same link with a special discounted rate of £10 for a year's social membership (normally £20). We would encourage as many of you as possible to take up this offer as your memberships go a long way towards supporting the facilities your children enjoy at Orleton Park.
All fully-paid-up Junior Members will receive a £5 Seaton Sports voucher on the evening to put towards kit ahead of the new season!
Our first training night will be held on Monday 29th April from 18:15 to 20:00. It will continue every Monday until the end of July (excluding Bank Holidays).
There is one difference on previous years, and this affects our U15 Boys group. League matches in the U15 category must be held on Mondays this season, so training for these boys will move to Thursdays or Fridays on affected weeks. This will be discussed more at the Parent Information Evening.
We are actively looking to grow our Youth Section this season, so we would love to see new members. Please come along to the Parent Information Evening or contact Simon Topper on 07921 234800 for more information.
If you are an existing members, please bring along any friends or family - aged 9 to 15, boys and girls - who might be interested in learning cricket to the Parent Information Evening!
